Knowing what skills and qualifications you require can be confusing.

Sporting codes set out clear guidelines and provide regular updates and often change requirements in this regard so please check their approved website accordingly.

With a specific focus on Rugby League the Trainers in the Elite space were different color shirts and perform different roles to the Community Level.

For example:

Community level - Leaguesafe (10 min online course requirements)

 Elite / Performance - Assistant Medical (Yearly CPR, yearly Spinal Injury Management in addition to Elite Head Injury Concussion modules)

Community - Level 2 Sports Trainer (CPR, Frist Aid and Level 2 course)

Elite / Performance -Head Trainer-  (Level 2 course or Health Care Professional, yearly Spinal Injury Management, yearly Advanced Resuscitation in addition to Elite Head Injury Concussion modules)

Elite level Sports Trainers work in a space with additional Health Care Professionals and have additional reporting and responsibilities to support elite athletes.
