Liz Coffey
Director
With over 25 years of providing first aid at sporting, community and corporate events, festivals, concerts and following natural disasters, Liz has an expert level of knowledge and skills and considerable experience in training delivery.
Since 1999 Liz has been a formidable asset to St John Ambulance Queensland where she progressed to the role of Divisional and State Training Officer, supporting members to enhance their skills and abilities to serve the people of Queensland at a range of events. Liz also served 7 years in St John as a Specialist First Aid Instructor.
Liz also brings over 15 years of experience as a First Aid Officer at the Queensland Performing Arts Complex where she has been an integral part of the Visitor Services team.
Embracing her love of first aid and training, Liz completed a Bachelor of Nursing studies in 2016 and went on to work for a number of years at one of Brisbane's busiest emergency departments. As an experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse, Liz is currently a fundamental part of the Allianz Global Assistance Medical Assistance Desk, providing medical steerage and assistance to travellers overseas when faced with a medical illness or injury, and recently completed her post graduate certificate in Critical Care – Emergency and Aeromedical Retrieval.
In 2022, Liz’s longstanding passion for Rugby League saw her seamlessly adapt to the role of Sports Trainer. She is currently Head Trainer at Redcliffe Dolphins, attached to the Harvey Norman 19 girls representative team, NRL Dolphins Academy Girls and the RISE program. Her knowledge, skills and experience are in high demand and she has supported a number Rugby League Clubs during finals, cultural rounds, and international tours, including Tonga’s touring teams and international touch competitions. In addition to being a Team Leader on the Wanderers Australia’s Junior Girls Rugby League UK Tour in 2024 and upcoming 2025 tour.
Her passion to support clubs and trainers to provide care for players on and off the field led Liz to establish Sports Trainer Academy in 2025, with a unique focus on delivering specialised first aid skills for both the community and elite sport arenas. Liz is currently completing a post graduate degree in Sports Managment to further support Rugby League clubs both domestically and abroad.
